November President’s Message

Friends,

The High Holiday Season is finally over but not at all forgotten.  In fact one important thing remains outstanding.  We are desperately in need of a new white bima cover for use starting next year.  Our old one is well past its prime, stained and frayed, and no longer suitable for the solemnity and respect due the High Holidays.  We are therefore looking for a donor who will step forward to underwrite the cost of the new bima cover, perhaps in dedication to a special occasion or loved one.  Anyone interested in this opportunity should please contact the shul office.  Your generosity will be greatly appreciated!

As the High Holidays came early this year, it should be no surprise to you that Chanukah is also coming early!  Our congregational Chanukah party will take place this year on Saturday, December 8.  The festivities will begin at 6 pm, with a delicious and traditional dinner at 7 pm.  Those who came last year all had a great time and we guarantee a repeat this year – you won’t want to be left out of the fun!  So bring your chanukiah (menorah), and even better, bring your friends and relatives – it will be a great way to share the spirit of the holiday with them.  Please be sure to send in your reservation form, found on page 2 of this bulletin.  We are also looking for a few volunteers to come early and help set up for the party, so please contact the shul office if you are able to help.

Finally, our son Jack’s bar mitzvah is now only a little more than a week away.  He is not as nervous as my wife and I think he should be, but there is still time.  We hope to see you all at the service and kiddush, November 10.

See you in shul,

Steve Teitel

Join in the fun!

The BHBI Chanukah Party is scheduled for Saturday evening, December 8th.  The fun begins with candle lighting at 6:00, followed by traditional Chanukah foods and lots of fun.  Don’t forget your candles and your dreydels!!

See the reservation form on page 2 for more info.
